Jam On Reprogram!
« on: December 23, 2011, 01:22:38 PM »
Hi, All.
I know I'm really late to the party on this one, but I just for the first time heard the Jam On Reprogram track from the 2007 Jam On It remixes EP. It is incredible. I have honestly never heard a remix of the original track that seemed at all interesting, until now. And this one speaks a whole new language. I doesn't try to redo what the original did at all. It's truly a song for the new millenium, while making clever reference to history.

Anyway, I've scoured the internets and I think I've exhausted my search abilities -- I can't figure out who made this track!

Please, anyone with knowledge (Cosmo?!) give me a sign - who crafted this fantastic song??

Thank you in advance for any information you can provide!

**Long live Newcleus**

Hi Goldbug, welcome to the forum!

I have no idea what track you are talking about.  Got a link so I can check it out?

Thanks,
Coz :)

Yeah, that's an official release, though the bum owes me money.  I'll see if I can dig up info on the remix.

Do you not retain a lawyer whom you contact to handle little problems such as that?  :bonk:

Coz,
Great to hear that this is an official release and not something shady. Thanks in advance for any info you dig up on the remix. If you'd rather have me ask "the bum" (haha) directly, I'd be happy to do that.
Happy new year.

No, I do not.  It would be a waste of money with that slippery muthafukka anyway.  The man's a crook, but I knew that going in.  It's aright though, I've made MANY times more off of it than he has.

Only reason I didn't recognize it is the real name is the Jam On Soul mix.  I have the liner notes somewhere.

I just found this by googling it, because I ran into it on Spotify and wanted to confirm if it was what I thought it was.  I'm pretty sure it goes like this.

One of the bigger commercial labels in South Florida got the rights (or already had them through a parent company) and released a Millennium Remixes album in 2000.  Mixed in with the commercial dance remixes was this gem.  The duo that put this together release music under a ton of names, but they had a massive electro LP in the 90's under the name Soul Oddity (look it up...you won't be disappointed if you like this mix).  They re-branded themselves as Phoenicia after the Soul Oddity records and started a label called Schematic Records where they also released music individually as Jeswa and Takeshi Muto.  I also want to say that this mix was co-produced by Salim Rafiq aka DJ Wreck (look him up too...lots of similar tracks).

I think it was re-released in 2007 which is what the Amazon link you posted on this thread says, but this was definitely done in 2000 in Miami, FL by the people mentioned above.
