Bumpin' In Miami

Bumpin' In Miami

Well, no surprise, due to working until the absolute last minute I did not get an update done before I left.  However, I DID manage to upload the latest Newcleus track "Programmed 4 L.O.V.E.".  If you have been coming through and haven't looked to your left at the Latest Downloads list, well shame on you!  :wiggle:

Please do not spread or share this mp3 until I give you guys the word.  This will be first released exclusively on the Streetsounds Nu Electro album, and I'm sure you can imagine that Morgan Khan is a little less enthusiastic about sharing mp3s than I am. :ha:  You know though that I had to give my loyal fam here in at Jam-On HQ first listen.  It was here within a half hour of the final mix. :)  If Morgan (who is now a member) comes through I will probably get a phone call.

Lady E and I are now in Miami getting our groove on and making our moves on.  I know that I have said this a LOT in the past, but this year is the year it all comes together.  As I reported in my last update, the "Automan" and new "Jam On It" singles releases have had to be backed up because of the Streetsounds album, but they will be ready to go soon after that release, and "Returned To Earth" is still on track for this Summer.  I think when y'all hear Programmed 4 L.O.V.E." you may be just as excited as we are.

We'll be here in Miami until the 30th.  More to come when we return!

Just listened to the tune. I like it. Should do well globally. Tempo was exciting, the hook lends itself to a lot of visual possibilities and the performance was strong.  Congratulations.

In Miami?  Yep.  We're meeting him at the Stone's Throw party at the Fountainbleu in a few.  I think it's free to get in. :)

Nice one :)  How about the mixing, are you comfortable with your new room? Or using those Sennheiser headphones? I like the sound of it.

I have no room yet, just have it all set up in a corner of my basement.  Mixing really SUCKED!  I mostly used my Event 20/20s, though I did a lot of patching and effects in the cans.  Had no choice, with no sound proofing whatsoever I had to switch to the cans after 11pm so as not to disturb the neighbors.  I just did all of my critical mixing in the daytime.  Took me a good two weeks to get the damm mix done!

Woah, 2 weeks, that's kind of crazy. Are the acoustics ok? There's a good book I'd highly recommend with details on setting up a studio in an average room which is what I used to set up my studio and find the best spot for everything - http://mixingwithyourmind.com/ The author is an Australian guy by the name of Stav who worked at Air studios in the UK for some time with George Martin (Beatles producer). His methods are quite unique and mostly involve using your ears to find what sounds best. There's some great stuff in there, including a method for mixing in reverse.
